Front-Tracking Numerics

The numerical methods specific to TrioCFD are mostly about Front-Tracking. The two front-tracking modules and their numerical methods are documented, together with their physical models, on the Front-Tracking page:

  • the Front-Tracking discontinu (FTD) mixed Front-Tracking/VOF method — discrete quantities, interface mesh and curvature, conservative Eulerian↔Lagrangian passage operators, phase indicator, velocity/pressure (marker-and-cell) discretization, internal-energy discretization, heat/mass transfer at interfaces, discrete velocity divergence and the phase mass balance;
  • the Front-Tracking IJK method — the structured Cartesian-grid solver, the one-fluid projection method with a multigrid pressure solver, and the shear-periodicity treatment (interpolation of one-fluid quantities and the resulting pressure matrix).
Note
Additional Front-Tracking-specific numerical methods will be documented here. This page is a placeholder pointing to the detailed Front-Tracking model and numerics.
